Who We Are
Service Committee
Under the Chair, Edna Barlow, the terms of reference for the group are:
The Church is called to follow the example of Jesus in serving others and to share in the stewardship of God's creation.
We seek to express God's love both by serving individuals and society, locally and worldwide, and by challenging
and seeking to change that which is evil, oppressive or unjust.
With these aims in view, the Service Group will:
- Seek to serve God's community at Deane by providing a welcoming and caring environment which will enable people to draw closer to God and to each other.
- Be responsible, through the Buildings and Fabric Committee, for the care and maintenance of the Church building, the Memorial Hall and the graveyard.
- Be responsible, through the Church and Hall Development Committee, for the project to re-order the interior of the Church and to build a new church hall.
- Develop and implement the activities approved by the PCC as part of the three-year plan and assigned to the Service Group by the PCC.
- Report regularly to the PCC through the Standing Committee.
- Be responsible for such special activities as may be assigned by the PCC.
