Guides
The Guide unit of St Mary's Deane (66th St Mary's) meets on a Monday night during term time only. It is for girls aged between 10 and 16, although some girls stay on to become Young Leaders. We have room for a maximum of 36 girls, and at the moment we have a few spaces.
The girls are split into small groups of their choice, where they set themselves challenges and work towards them together. We also like to play lots of games and generally have fun. There are lots of opportunities to go camping or on indoor holidays, both as a unit and with other Guides in the region. Throughout the year we go on trips out, eg bowling, ice-skating, Camelot, pop concerts, etc
As with most voluntary organisations, we are really struggling for adult help on a weekly basis. You don't have to have any particular skills, we're just looking for adults to engage with the children and ask questions about what they're doing.
